Founded in 1996 by Algebra Project graduates, YPP is a nonprofit organization with established sites in Chicago, IL; Greater Boston; Jackson, MS; and affiliated programs in Atlanta, GA; Eastern Michigan (University of Michigan-Ann Arbor); Mansfield, OH; Miami, FL and San Francisco, CA.

As the founding members of YPP moved from middle school to high school to college, their development and the subsequent development of the young people they worked with and formed the basis for the evolution of a truly youth-driven organization.
