I am a very hard working individual with a potent personality. Being that I grew up with only males in a rough neighborhood in Bronx, New York, I tend to create a shell around me to keep others out. I have learned to open up to others, while not compromising my personality because others can’t handle it. I’m outgoing, outspoken and I have no problem speaking my mind. I always put others before myself because I’m quite the generous one. My favorite hobbies are dancing, and writing poetry. I support myself, and have been doing so for some time now. I hate judgmental people, as well as, people with no common sense. I try hard at everything that I do so if I slip a little, I can still remain on top. I don’t like competition, but do welcome a challenge. I have set goals in my life, that I know someday I WILL accomplish.
YPP helps me in many ways. For instance, I was unsure of what I wanted to do as a career; this job helped me realize that I want to work with children. It feels like something I could do everyday and come home feeling good about it. I love it because I’m helping someone else reach his or her full human potential. Knowing that I can make a difference in someone’s life is so fulfilling. YPP has also helped me with my confidence, self-esteem and public speaking. These things not only help me be better at my job, but also from a social aspect, it helps too.
