I am 5’0 and Caperverdean and Dominican. I am in the 10th grade and I have two brothers. I’m a student at Boston Latin School and I have been working at The Young People’s Project for almost two seasons. I love the YPP because this program really allows you to discover yourself. It allows you to be balanced in the sense that we have time and space to figure out our issues and then we’re able to work that much stronger for the program.
I have a lot of fun prepping the workshops and actually going through them with the students we work with. You feel good after every workshop you know, not only that but you get to meet some pretty smart kids in the process. I came to YPP because I felt like I could handle the work and it would really help me understand how to work with little people. YPP helps other people to kind of keep themselves grounded and it also helps children to both understand and have better math skills.
