David Dennis at the National Civil Rights Conference


David Dennis, Director and CEO of the Southern Initiative of the Algebra Project, is being honored at the 6th National Civil Rights Conference this Sunday in Meridian Mississippi. 

We are excited to announce that one of our board members, Mr. David Dennis, will be honored with an award from the 6th National Civil Rights Conference this Sunday, June 19th. Mr. Dennis is the Director and CEO for the Southern Initiative of our close partner The Algebra Project. He was the co-director of the Council of Federated Organizations, the director of Mississippi’s Congress of Racial Equality, and as one of the leaders in the Mississippi Freedom Summer of 1962. He worked with Bob Moses and Medgar Evers as a member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. He is originally from Omega, Louisiana and holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan.
