Grassroots organizing is a beautiful form of organizing that allows people to share their goals and ideas with one another. It has been a growing experience since I first became involved with YPP, but now more than ever I understand that through this form of organizing we will be able to reach out to millions of disenfranchised members of our country. Ella Baker has become a part of me; her words resonate while I walk around the city of Cambridge. I am grateful to be a product of a great Cambridge public school system, however, I an aware that there are millions of my people that have fallen through the cracks of an unequal education system. The current Public education system is a one size fits all system that treats its students like cattle in a production line. We have to change this system but in order to do so we must come together and fight.
“In unity there is strength”, these words may sound cliché but they are powerful....
